Groom Kennedy recently assisted a wholly-owned subsidiary of TasFoods Limited (TFL) with its acquisition of a chicken broiler and breeder business known as Redbank Poultry (Redbank), located in North-West Tasmania.
Redbank has long supplied the poultry business of TFL, Nichols Poultry, with all of its required day-old chicks. As a result of the acquisition, TFL will own an end-to-end poultry business, with the goal of improving supply chain security and operational efficiency.
Our team assisted with the transaction from beginning to end, including due diligence enquiries on behalf of TFL and the negotiation of a lease for the growing sheds and associated infrastructure.
